The mango is a juicy tropical fruit. The ripe fruit varies in size and color, such as yellow, red or green and very fibrous on the surface and taking three to six months to ripen. Mango trees can live up to 300 years, with its root descending to depths as far as 20 feet. Mangoes are generally sweet, although the taste and texture of the flesh varies across cultivars; some have a soft, pulpy texture.
