The Lime is a hybrid citrus fruit which is typically round and containing acidic juice.  Limes are an excellent source of vitamin C, and are often used to accent the flavors of foods and beverages, refreshing cocktails, pickles, jams, snacks, candies and in cooking. Interestingly, oil extracted from its peel or skin is used extensively in cosmetic products, toothpastes, hair oils, beauty soaps, deodorants, mouthwashes and disinfectants.

Limes are known to improve skin care, weight loss, indigestion and relief from constipation. In particular its health benefits treats ailments such as scurvy, piles, peptic ulcer, urinary track disorders, respiratory disorders and gout.
